How to File a Claim at

The Small Claims Court

Write a Letter of Demand

Before filing a claim, send a Letter of Demand (Form SCA1) to the person or business you are claiming from. This letter should outline your claim and request payment within a specified timeframe.

Obtain Court Forms

Visit the Small Claims Court Registry in your Magisterial District or download the necessary forms from the Ebonyi State Judiciary website. Ensure you have the Complaint Form (Form SCA2) and Summons (Form SCA3).

Complete the Forms

Fill out the Complaint Form and Summons with accurate details about yourself (the claimant), the defendant, and the nature of your claim. Be thorough and follow the instructions provided with the forms.
